The Sharjah Book Authority announces its second edition of the Sharjah Animation Conference will take place between 1 to 5 May 2024.
The first event of its kind in the region, which celebrates art and innovation in the animation and publishing industries, will host an extravaganza of animation experts, artists and content creators from around the world.
The conference promises a rich program of presentations by directors and illustrators from major international studios including Disney, Warner Bros. and Sony.
There will be specialized workshops, interactive discussion sessions, international film screenings and various exhibitions under the supervision of a group of professional artists and Oscar-winning animation legends.
According to the Conference Executive Director Khawla Al Mujaini, the conference aims to connect like-minded folks as well as provide a platform to collaborate and share the latest ideas and technologies available in the market.
“Animation is a universal language that combines art and technology and expresses human and cultural diversity. As specialists in the publishing sector, we believe that there are plenty of opportunities to achieve prosperity in the creative industries and we want to showcase rich and diverse content, as well as create demand for artists’ works,” says Al Mujaini.
Conference Technical Directo Pietro Benetti says that the event aims to connect and inspire the next generation of anime creators.
“The Sharjah Animation Conference reflects the great and wide diversity in the world of animation schools and their technologies – and to hear from pioneers and specialists in this industry directly, will inspire young artists to become the next generation of animation makers,” says Benetti.
The Sharjah Animation Conference will kick off with a concert by the famous Florence Pop Orchestra, marking the start of five days of creativity and dialogue with 32 international speakers presenting 11 specialized workshops, 18 interactive panel discussions and a 4-day intensive training course in collaboration with Ardemann Academy, where participants will have the opportunity to dive into the depths of all things animation.
