The UAE Ministry of Economy launches ‘Future of Jobs’ with Integra Seven, focusing on talent attraction and retention strategies in tech, space and energy focused industries.
The Ministry of Economy, in collaboration with Integra Seven, a leading UAE-based public policy research and consulting firm, recently hosted the ‘Future of Jobs’ workshop. The event gathered representatives from 14 key economic entities and companies across the UAE to address critical workforce challenges and opportunities.
“H.E. Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, emphasized the UAE’s continued efforts to achieve its vision to become the best global destination for talented individuals and innovators. This commitment strengthens the country’s knowledge- and innovation-driven economic model and reinforces its leadership in attracting and retaining global talent. These efforts include the adoption of strategic initiatives and policies that contribute the development of an attractive environment to attract companies and individuals, thus enhancing their contribution to the sustainable growth of the national economy,” quotes the UAE Ministry of Economy press release.
Integra Seven Managing Director Natalia Sycheva stressed the value of private-public collaboration in tackling workforce challenges.
“Through this workshop, we not only identified the challenges but also co-created innovative solutions. It provided a valuable opportunity to foster dialogue and cooperation between industry leaders and policymakers in the UAE,” says Sycheva.
Aligned with the theme of this year’s UAE Innovation Month, ‘UAE Innovates 2025,’ the workshop focused on strategies for attracting, empowering, and retaining top talent, further solidifying the UAE’s ambition to maintain its position as a global leader in innovation across various sectors.
The workshop also unveiled the National Talent Attraction and Retention Strategy 2024-2027, a comprehensive plan aimed at strengthening the UAE’s global talent pool. The strategy aims to cultivate a highly skilled and adaptable workforce that can drive innovation and economic growth.
A cornerstone of the strategy is attracting top-tier global talent in sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced technology, renewable energy, and space exploration.
The UAE aims to create an environment that encourages skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers to establish their careers in the country. This involves offering incentives, competitive packages, and a supportive infrastructure for growth and innovation.
To future-proof its workforce, the UAE is investing in education and training programs designed to equip individuals with the skills needed for emerging industries. The strategy places a particular emphasis on STEM education, digital literacy, and upskilling programs that will prepare the workforce for the demands of the digital economy. These efforts will ensure that workers are adaptable and can thrive in the face of evolving technological advancements.
The UAE’s strategy also focuses on strengthening the nation’s innovation ecosystem by fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government. The goal is to support research and development initiatives, encourage entrepreneurship, and create platforms for knowledge sharing and innovation. This integrated approach aims to enhance the country’s ability to generate solutions across sectors and maintain its competitive edge on the global stage.
